Tips On Teaching Sabbath School
Pastor Joel Nemhard, director of Personal Ministries and Sabbath School from the Ontario Conference, will have a talk/chat with teachers of the adult class after lunch next week on practical issues, such as handling challenging questions and difficult students. All are welcome!
Social Media Blitz
Continue to pray that God is going before us as people in our region receive invitations to study Scripture through Voice of Prophecy’s Discover Bible School. Perth and Smiths Falls churches are working together to make this Instagram and Facebook campaign an especially compelling event.
Sunshine Band
The Sunshine Band will be with our Van Horne friends next Sabbath and everyone is invited to come and be refreshed as we bring cheer and spiritual comfort!
Bring Your Lunch
Each Sabbath after church everyone’s invited to have fellowship and a dining experience where you can bring a little extra to put on the sharing table for any guests. Our sharing table has become a remarkable success by reducing the workload on the “Marthas” in our group and giving the “Dans” the best of all worlds! The best food from home is augmented by treats from the sharing table and everybody’s happy to take their stuff home. The Lord is pleased with the emphasis on fellowship and the emancipation from the drudgery of cleanup. And the Dans are deliriously happy.
Elevator Progress
We’re still waiting on the final report from the technical standards inspector to get the keys to our elevator. They say it’s only a phone call away! The Lord has blessed us mightily and please keep praying that this vision from 2018 will be our reality shortly. Praise God!
Fall Retreat
The annual fall Spiritual Retreat at Merrywood Camp near Port Elmsley will be held this year in the weekend of Sept. 27-29. Registration is $170 per person. More information to follow.
